Trenchless Pipe Relining
Our licenced uPVC fold & form systems
USAGE:
Relining sewer and stormwater pipelines 100mm to 600mm in diameter with our licensed uPVC fold and form liner system.
HOW WE DO IT:
1. Preparation: Before installation, the existing pipeline is thoroughly inspected using CCTV and cleaned to ensure optimal conditions for the uPVC liner. This step involves removing debris, scale, and any potential obstructions.
2. Customized uPVC Liner: A uPVC liner, customized to fit the specific dimensions of the pipeline, is prepared. The liner is typically delivered in a continuous length without joints, ensuring a seamless and robust solution.
3. Steam Heating: The uPVC liner is heated using steam, making it pliable and ready for installation. The heating process is typically conducted on-site to accommodate site-specific requirements.
4. Installation: Once heated, the uPVC liner is inserted into the existing pipeline, and a winch line is attached. The liner is then pulled through the pipeline using a combination of pressure and hot air, expanding it to conform to the internal dimensions of the existing line.
5. Reinstatement: After successful installation, a robotic tool is often deployed to reinstate and cut out holes for lateral connections or other necessary elements. This step ensures that the rehabilitated pipeline seamlessly integrates with the existing infrastructure.
Trenchless Sectional CIPP Ambient cure Patch Repairs & Relining
USAGE:
Sectional patching of sewer and stormwater pipelines, including lateral house connections, 100mm to 600mm diameter.
HOW WE DO IT:
A fiberglass reinforced matting impregnated with an epoxy resin is cut in lengths ranging from 1-4.5m to repair localised damage.
- The patch is wrapped around an inflatable packer and pulled into the line from the closest manhole
- Air is used to inflate the packer and compress it against the host pipe
- This system can be used for localised repairs or a full pipe line relining if required
TopHat LJR system
USAGE:
The Cosmic “Top Hat” UV light cured (GRP) lateral connection sealing system uses a Polyester impregnated corrosion resistant fiberglass insert. It can reach 6” into the lateral and creates a 3″ “brim” in the main pipe. The TOP HAT system is the fastest method of repairing sewers world-wide. Problem areas can be repaired within 12 to 15 minutes. The materials used take only seven minutes to set, avoiding the need for by-pass, pumping the existing sewer system or creating prolonged traffic jams and delays.
HOW WE DO IT:
The laminate is placed on the applicator, driven to the opening and inserted by air pressure. UV light cured in a “flash” – 7 minutes!
Panel Lok uPVC Manhole Lining System
USAGE:
Panel Lok is designed as a bonded structural liner which forms a composite pipe section with the host pipe. Long term bond between Panel Lok liner and grout, and bond between grout and existing pipe, will transfer shear stress generated by composite action. Panel Lok – 17/300 (Extra Heavy) – Used for Corrosion protection and structural enhancement of gravity and low pressure pipelines DN800mm to DN1400mm and of maintenance holes and wet well chambers. Other profiles are available to suit client sizing needs.
HOW WE DO IT:
After the manhole is pressure washed the Panel Lok profile is fed through the manhole lid and spiral wound into place by hand and interlocked with a joining strip. There is minimal loss of cross section as its formed hard against the host walls. The top and bottom of the liner will be sealed with Sewpercoat with no waiting time on curing and no acid washing surfaces compared to other systems. Once the liner is installed grouting is pumped behind the liner in 1 meter lifts to complete the structural bond.
Cutting Protruding Laterals
USAGE:
Lateral pipe connections to mains line are often not constructed very well and protrusions of up to 50mm are common place.
HOW WE DO IT:
PipeTech has 2 systems that can be used depending on the requirements:
- KRE Robotic cutter
- Torpedo cutter which is a rotary cutting tool placed in a liner and is largely mechanical
Lateral Cutouts
USAGE:
After lining or patching over a live lateral connection it is necessary to reinstate the lateral by cutting a hole through the liner or patch.
HOW WE DO IT:
PipeTech has 2 systems that can be used to reinstate lateral connections:
- Robotic cutter
- Electro-mechanical cutter with specialised heads
Drain Unblocking & Root Cutting
USAGE:
Due to cracked pipes and joint failure often drains block as a result of root intrusion or protrusions backing up solid material in the pipe.
HOW WE DO IT:
The methods by which PipeTech cut roots are:
- High pressure water blasting similar to that used for unblocking drains can usually cut through small fibrous root systems.
- If the roots are substantial then Robotic Cutters or Torpedo cutters are used along with either the Electro-Mechanical machine or Water blaster.

PRESSURE PIPE RELINING
USAGE
Pressure pipe relining is a semi-structural integral system that uses liners and couplings which can ensure a tight fit to the host pipe during installation. It is both rigid and flexible, maintaining its shape within the host pipes even without internal pressure. It can navigate bends of up to 45 degrees or 90 degrees with a 5D radius, making it versatile for various pipe configurations. It is ideal for pipeline rehabilitation where the traditional repair method of remove and replace is not feasible.
There are four different categories of pressure pipe liners:
- Water liner – for water main pipes
- Hot water liner – for municipal heat systems (with a temperature resistance of up to 95°C or 203°F)
- Gas liner – for gas pipes onshore or offshore
- Oil liner – for oil pipes onshore or offshore
HOW WE DO IT
PipeTech is the New Zealand distributor for ASOE Pipe-in Liner FRFPP Pressure Pipe Rehabilitation, giving us a solution to pressure pipe relining. It is installed by folding the pressure pipe liner into a U-shape, pulling it into the host pipes, and expanding it within the pipes to create a leak-free lining.
